Did my co-worker meet Rollie Fingers or just a fat impersonator?

Last Saturday night I got a phone call around 9:30 at night from a drunk co-worker asking if I knew what Rollie Fingers looked like. I told him I did, and asked why. He went on to explain for what seemed like an eternity his meeting with Rollie Fingers in northern Minnesota while ice fishing. First he explained and apologized about how drunk he was. Nothing I haven't seen before sir, remember Milwaukee? Probably not. He met this man claiming to be Rollie at the bar, by telling the man his mustache was second only to that of Mr. Fingers. The fat imposter claimed he was Rollie, my co-worker then went on to ask him to see his ID. He refused to show it. According to my co-worker, all of the imposters friends referred to him as Rollie. My co-worker, in his prime form, didn't want to miss out on a picture with "Rollie" if it was indeed him. So he forwarded me this classic picture. Now, unless Rollie got fat since his appearances in the Pepsi commercials, this isn't him. Look at the picture and judge for yourself. Feel free to comment as needed.

Quick Movie Reviews: the sequel

Sequels typically suck, so if this post follows that trend, don't bother with part three when it comes around. I have watched a few movies and some tv shows in the depression following the Brewers elimination from the playoffs. Add that up with the Cards being six outs away from winning the World Series and shit is about to hit the fan. So here it goes.

Red State (starring John Goodman, Michael Parks, directed by Kevin Smith) 3/5
It's about three high school boys who go on a internet dating service to try to find somebody they can all fuck. Things go bad from there. It revolves around a crazy Phelps like church family, and involves gun play amongst other things. It had it's moments, it was creepy at times, but ended up being another movie I built up in my mind too much prior to seeing it. I'm not saying it was bad, just not great. It was a good movie, just took a while to get going. If you like horror movies, I'd recommend it.

Just For Kicks (rappers, shoe enthusiasts, random black people) 2/5
This is a documentary I saw on Netflix instant. It was alright, killed an hour and a half of a boring day. It is all about shoes and how rap and basketball influenced shoe companies. It spends the most time on RUN-DMC and ADIDAS and Air Jordans. It is cool to see some of the amounts of money people will spend on shoes. It is also sad how much some people will spend on them while living in what looks like shitty apartments in NY. If you like rap and shoes, check it out, otherwise don't bother.

From Dusk Till Dawn (George Clooney, Quentin Tarantino, Juliette Lewis) 4/5
This isn't the first time I've seen this movie but it's been a while. Clooney and Tarantino are felons on their way to Mexico and need Lewis' family to help them across the border in their RV. When the get to Mexico they go to a titty bar and all hell breaks out as it turns out to be a vampire feast. I don't want to give away any more spoilers to this bad ass flick, but it is awesome. As a youngster, I liked it because of tits and gore.And as a much older man, I like it for the same reasons. My wife kept looking at me as if to ask, "Are you seriously watching this shit," and would then laugh at the campyness of it. It is on Instant now, so check it out.

Thor (Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins) 2/5
Thor gets banished to Earth(Midgard) from Asgard so he can learn humility and eventually take the throne from his father, Odin. Thor's brother Loki interferers and all hell breaks loose. While Thor is on Earth he meets a scientist, who trys to help him find himself.
Thor was a bad movie but not the worst I've ever seen. My brother said it was good and he was wrong, it had good parts but overall wasn't very good. I only watched it once and don't know if I'll ever watch it again. Part of me thinks I need to give it another shot, but I don't know if it's worth it. Some of the action parts were cool but all it did was get me excited for Avengers. I just hope Captain America is better than this was. If you are not into comics, don't bother.

That's it for now, the Cards are two outs away from being World Champs. I have to go find a bottle of pills to swallow.

Just in case you are running out of excuses to blame the slump on, here is a refresher course. I'll go bulletpoint to save a lot of typing.

Prince told the media this is most likely his last year in Milwaukee.
They waited to long to bring Weeks back, and are puscifying him now that he is back.
Yuni.
Casey.
K-Rod whining to the media about not closing games.
Our manager is stubborn and plays bad players despite the fact that they have sucked for a month straight.
Lawrie is killing it in Toronto, and this outing by Marcum proves the trade was a very bad idea.
The Brewers aren't getting attention now that the Packers are back.
Our draft picks waited too long to sign.
Miller Park Drunk doesn't post enough new stories on his site.
The Beer Pen Podcast doesn't get enough listeners (seriously download that shit).
Nyjer Morgan needs to stop the antics, they are a distraction.
All the "beast mode" antics have cursed the team.
Braun is too worried about a batting title.

All excuses I've heard or will be hearing about soon. Some of them real, some not. Please don't use more than two of these excuses in the same conversation though, the Brewers playoff chances depend on it (or at least my sanity does).
