Nice weekend, well most of it.

Not a bad weekend for the Crew. Friday started the series against the Astros with a win. The Brewers looked pretty great offensively with 17 hits including three homeruns. Braun, who coming off his big extension, knocked out a three run shot, Gallardo hit his ninth career home run and Gomez aka the Scarecrow hit his second of the year. Yo looked rough again, getting knocked around for eight hits, a walk and four runs. He got the win due to a big night at the plate. Sean Green pitched one inning and gave up three hits and two runs. I don't have a lot of confidence in Green, there is something about a side arm righty that isn't right. When it's a lefty I expect it, but not from a right handed pitcher. He didn't manage to calm my fears Saturday night either.

Saturday's game was watched late at night due to coloring eggs. I started watching pretty late and didn't get done with it till midnight. And by done, I mean the ninth inning when my pile of shit cable box stopped recording. Watching the Astros on defense is almost as bad as watching Titanic 2. Thank you Netflix for this abortion of a movie. As long as we're talking defense, can we stop mentioning how the Brewers are best in the NL in errors. They never mention how all seven of them have seamed to make us lose a game. Such a bullshit stat. Now back to the game. Marcum pitched slightly better than Yo the night before, giving up seven hits, a walk and four runs. Sean Green was the pitching goat though, in extra innings he gave up three runs in two thirds of an inning. Bye bye Sean. It was a tough game to watch. Fifteen hits, three walks but only scored six runs. Axford looked good too, can't forget his performance in the ninth. The baserunning error to end the eighth inning was enough to drive a man to re-watch Titanic 2. I can't blame Bet for going home, but what the hell was Lucroy doing? And Almonte should have been out at first, if not for a horrible throw. Braun and Fielder performed in the ninth, but we couldn't get any more out of it. Either could my cable dvr, so I flipped the channel to ESPN News and saw we lost 9-6. What a lackluster way to find out the score after an exciting ninth.

I still haven't watched all of Sunday's game, but I made it through four innings before we put Shrek in for the tenth time. Wolf looked good again, I hope he can keep it up. We got to Wandy a little bit, and that doesn't happen very often. He was 2-0 against us last year. I enjoyed watching the hawk (the bird not Hawkins) take out a pigeon mid flight. At times it felt like I was watching the Discovery Channel though. Weeks hits a home run and they cut to the bird for his reaction shot instead of a replay of the home run. Awesome. It didn't take long and there was a twitter user with the name MillerParkHawk. Go figure. Axford got the save and the weekend ends with the Crew half game behind St. Louis. Our record going into a series at home against the Reds is 11-10.

Now, I have to go feed the baby chickens my brother gave to my kids as an Easter present. I can't wait to get revenge for this one.

Go Crew.
