NFL Coaches, watch your ass. You may be next...

I was sitting around, looking at some of the coaching news for the NFL and thought it seemed like there were a lot of changes in the last year. There were and I figured as long as I'm staying late fucking around, I might as well document my thoughts on the matter. I plan on doing something along these lines with MLB too. If I get overly ambitious, I may even do one for the NHL.

NFL:

Buffalo: Chan Gailey took over for Perry Fewell, who was an interim coach, and went 4-12. Not very good, but it's the Bills. Not a whole lot to look forward to, unless you live in Toronto. If it keeps going this way, Buffalo may beg you to keep them full time.

Seattle: Pete Carroll took over for a fired Jim Mora in the offseason and took the Seahawks to the playoffs in style going 7-9 in the regular season. While some said he wouldn't be able to get the pros into the rah-rah styling of the college game, he did just that with a shocking win over the defending Super Bowl champs, the Saints.

Washington: Mike Shanahan takes the job formerly filled by Jim Zorn, who was also fired. Shanahan took a major shit in Washington this year (although they did beat Green Bay), on his way to going 6-10. After trading for McNabb and then eventually benching him and putting him third on the depth chart behind a starting Rex Grossman, not to mention the insanity involving Haynesworth in training camp, Redskins fans should have seen the writing on the wall. Washington always finds a way to screw things up, possibly worse than the Vikings do.

Minnesota: Speaking of the Vikings, Brad Chilress was canned and the coaching duties were handed to Leslie Frazier. Childress was a lame duck coach. (I am setting my Vikings hatred aside for this one) Childress got a nice extension following a miracle season led by no 4. The Vikes won more game than they should have last year and Minnesota made a huge mistake by giving the clown an extension. Frazier will have his hands full making some coaching changes of his own. He will improve the team although I don't think it will be this year.

Dallas: Wade Phillips was sent packing after the Packers stomped them 45-7. Enter Jason Garrett, who led the team to a big victory the next week against the Giants. Garrett ended the season 5-3, much better than the first half under Wade. And who would really want to be under Wade, he has a rather large gunt. I don't really know how Garrett will do in Dallas, but I think he'll do better than Phillips did.

San Francisco: Mike Singaltary is gone after a horrible season where the Niners went 6-10. Which was rather average for the NFC West. He was fired at the end of last year and will be replaced by the highly sought after Jim Harbaugh. If he can bring some of the same intensity that Carroll brought to Seattle, he'll do wonders. The Niners need this to happen, although I doubt it will.

Denver: Josh McDaniels was only a season and a half into his head coaching career when he was let go in favor of running backs coach Eric Studesville. Denver went 4-12 this year and looks to be a hot mess for a while. No news on who the new coach is going to be.

Cleveland: The Mangenius, Eric Mangini started the season as the head coach after having a pretty bad 2009 season which he ended up winning the last four games to finish 5-11. Which is the same record they had this year. Here is another guy that tricked a team into keeping him around, he did it with the Jets and he lasted a season too long in Cleveland. Cleveland seems to be a shithole and the lucky residents of the fine town should consider themselves lucky to have rid their town of this douche. No word on his replacement .

Carolina: The John Fox era is over, after another disappointing season he will not be returning. Fox had his moments, but was pretty lackluster lately. I'm surprised he was back for 2010. Word is Ron Rivera has been hired to take over the helm, he was the defensive coordinator in San Diego.  Whoever he is, he won't have Andrew Luck as QB though, and that was the only thing the lovely residents of Charlotte had to look forward to. Ah, who am I kidding they still have the Bobcats and the Hurricanes. Yeah, them. Google it if you don't know who they are.

Oakland: Tom Cable brought to lowly Raiders back from obscurity under the thumb of Al Davis to an 8-8 record, while they swept their conference. Not a terribly easy task, no matter how bad the other teams were. Who will replace Cable is still unknown, but good luck pal, you have your work cut out for you. Everybody remembers the presser Al had when he got rid of Lane Kiffen. Granted Lane is crazy in his own right, but nobody has shit on ol' Al Davis. Al Davis makes Bellichick look like a fashionistta. Davis dresses like a gay gangster with his Raiders jumpsuit, not that I've met a gay guy that dresses that bad.
