Rico's Rant: 10 Years, 15 Moments
If you have ever been forced to watch the Brewers pre or post-game show called "Brewers Live" you know that they've been doing a thing called 40 Years 40 Moments. Which, if you don't know, is where they pick the top 40 moments of each decade since the Brewers have been in Milwaukee for 40 years. I've only had the pleasure of being a Brewers fan for the last 5 or 6 years so my knowledge of the past is a little sketchy. So I've decided to create my own favorite moments of the 2000's era.
15. When Corey Hart tripped rounding second base and barely made it back to second for a wicked double.
14. Brad Nelson goes 0-21 in 2009. Not too shabby!
13. Jeff Suppan loads the bases against Cubs in 2009, then walks the next 3 batters. Souuuup!
12. When announcing the Tavern of the Game, Brian Anderson calls Chippewa Falls, Chippa Waffles.
11. Prince Fielder's walk-off celebration where he leaped onto home plate and the team all fell down
10. When the first baseman of the Pirates whacked the Italian sausage in the head with a baseball bat as she was running past the visitors’ dugout.
9. Prince and Rickie hit first career home-runs against the Twins
8. Derrick Turnbow makes history recording saves in the first 4 games of the season in 2006
7. Prince Fielder goes after Guillermo Mota after being struck by a pitch
6. Trenni Kusnierek > Jerry Augustine
5. Prince freaks out at Manny Parra in the dugout
4. Geoff Jenkins hits home-run number 200!
3. Bill Hall's Mothers day pink bat walk-off home run
2. Ryan Braun's home run in the 8th inning against the Cubs putting the Crew ahead 3-1 in 2008, with CC on the hill.
1. The number one moment of the 2000's is not all that shocking, it's the signing of Eric Gagne and Jeff Suppan.... JUST KIDDING!
#1. The real number one moment is the Brewers making the playoffs in 2008, it was truly magical.
