Yikes. Tommy Hanson a.k.a. Courtney Gains
I am not going to get really far into how upset I am about the Braves sweeping us. It was a major disappointment, but they did have two great pitchers face us. Tommy Hanson and Tim Hudson. Lowe once held his own too. Lowe has fallen off some, but still did a good job against our anemic offense. How do we score so many runs on the road at "pitcher's parks" and cannot score at home. It blows my mind. I had great intentions of digging into stats and looking at who we had faced on the road vs. at home, but decided to save it for a later post. All I know is, I thought I'd never say I'm sad to see Gomez out of the lineup. This speedy little shit really adds a different threat to the oposition. He is needed badly, and so is Braun. Braun is the man, goes without saying, I know. But I'm contractually obligated to put it in 50% of my posts. McGehee is still tearing it up too. Enough about the series and on to something I noticed in Monday's game against Tommy Hanson.
Tommy Hanson is Courtney Gains.
Who is Courtney Gains? Courtney Gains played the creepy neighbor kid in 1989's The Burbs. A classic movie I recently picked up in the five dollar bin at WalMart. This was one of my favorite movies growing up, along with the Sandlot, Back to the Future 2 ( I loved this movie, like Tyler loved the Brave Little Toaster), and Mighty Ducks. Well maybe not the Mighty Ducks, but it was an ok flick. Back to the Burbs / Tommy connection. There really is no connection, I just like the movie and thought Hanson had a scragly red beard like the kid from the Burbs. Are they the same person? Could be, I've never seen them in the same place at the same time. I don't know if Hanson is as much of a Ginger as Gains, but he's got some of that blood in him. Here are some pics to compare the two. The first pic is Hanson signing something, the second is Gains in the Burbs and the last is an older Gains. Now, it makes you wonder though doesn't it.

One more thing regarding referencing movies. This goes to the people referencing using a "hot tub time machine" any time they talk about going back to the past. Enough, I haven't even seen the movie but you are making me not want to rent it. Whatever happened to referencing the Delorian and needing to reach 88 MPH. On second thought, keep the Delorian's name out of your mouth too.
